Check & Fix — $10 per file
Send us your file and we'll review it before it goes to press.
What we check
- Bleed and safe area
- Resolution at final print size
- Color mode, and any RGB elements that will shift on press
- Fonts — missing, unembedded, or not outlined
- Missing or low-quality linked images
- Transparency and overprint issues
- Page count and setup on multi-page work
- Fold and panel setup on folded pieces
What we do
We correct what we find and send you a proof to approve before printing. If something can't be corrected without a decision from you, we'll tell you what your options are before anything prints.
What Check & Fix is not
This is technical file preparation, not design. We're not redesigning your layout, rewriting your copy, or creating artwork.
And one thing nobody can fix: if the artwork itself is low resolution, we can't add detail that was never there. We can tell you before you spend money on a print run that won't look right — but the fix is a better source file, not prepress. We'll always let you know before printing.
Designed it yourself with AI?
Then this $10 is the best money you'll spend on the job.
ChatGPT and the other AI design tools have gotten good at look and feel. What they don't understand is how a press works. They produce a flat image sized for a screen — no bleed, no trim marks, usually RGB instead of CMYK, and no safe margin. Bleed in particular is something these tools almost never get right, and it's the single most common reason an otherwise nice-looking design comes back with a white line down one edge.
That's exactly what Check & Fix handles.
Design it yourself for free, then spend $10 making it printable. For a lot of our customers that's the whole design budget.
Two honest cautions on AI artwork:
- Check your resolution first. Most AI tools export at screen resolution. That can be fine for a 4" x 6" postcard and nowhere near enough for a poster. If it's too small, we'll tell you before we print.
- Read every word out loud. AI image tools garble text — swapped letters, invented words, phone numbers that drift by a digit. We'll flag what we spot, but you know what your phone number is supposed to say.
Not using Check & Fix?
We print your file as submitted. We'll flag an obvious problem if we notice one, but files sent without Check & Fix print as-is, and reprints for file issues we weren't asked to review are billed as a new job.
Simplest way to avoid all of it: start from one of our templates — bleed, trim, and safe area already marked.
