Worth knowing before you design
If you're mailing it, the address side isn't open design space. USPS requires a clear zone for the address block and barcode. Design elements intruding into that area cause problems with mail automation and can push your piece into a higher postage rate — or get it rejected. Keep the address area and the space below it clear. If you're mailing through us, we'll check this before it prints.
Size affects postage directly. A bigger postcard gets more attention but costs more per piece to mail, and the price breaks land on specific USPS size thresholds. Talk to us before committing to a size on a large mailing — the right dimensions save real money at volume.
Stock note: if you want recipients to write on the card, choose 16pt uncoated. Ink doesn't take reliably to gloss.
Doing EDDM? Separate size requirements plus bundling and facing slip rules apply. Ask us.
